📚 Bookbinding Basics is a place where Book Artists can learn the foundations of Bookbinding.
What is this space?
I wanted to create a space where new bookbinders could experiment and share their book art with the world.
Bookbinding is a slowed-paced craft in which you need to be patient with yourself and not rush the process. Honing your craft takes determination and experimentation.
In a fast-paced world, where social media displays the facade of perfection, this is a space where new bookbinders can exhale and embrace the slowness and imperfections of binding.
This is where uniqueness is encouraged, so don’t be afraid to be different and experiment with your style and approach.

About me
Hello friend 🌷
My name is Mei and I started bookbinding as a way to feel more present in a world of distractions. It’s therapeutic and satisfying to a tactile learner like myself.
I’m also a Tatreez Practitioner [Palestinian cross-stitch embroidery] a craft that goes back thousands of years. Bookbinding and Tatreez are my outlets for me to just focus on being present. I even created a small space in the corner of my room to make handmade books and work on other projects.
This is a little about me, please feel free to introduce yourself, and share your project(s) in the comment section.
✨ Thank you for stopping by,
Mei <3
